The Rotunda church is a 3rd century church undergoing renovation it was a moving place amid the scaffold and the work going on was the Altar. and it stood with the bare walls behind it and the mosaic ceiling above the effect was profound.

Our Tour
During our tour which was study leave. We have travelled through Eastern Europe and explored Turkey including Istanbul. We have travelled in the footsteps of St Paul as we have visited Ephesus, Laodicea, Alexandria Troas, Neapolis, Philippi, Amfilia, Thessalonica, Veria, Nicopolis, Athens and Corinth. From Patras we crossed to Brindisi travelling up through Italy to Naples Rome and Assisi before heading for home via Lucerne and the Rhine.
The roads have been exciting and challenging the remoteness and wilderness like nature of some areas have been surprising, and this is the 21st century, it makes St Paul's achievements seem all the more remarkable as does the fact that the churches Paul established in these towns were the foundations of what was to become the Orthodox Christian Church of Byzantium.
